Recent Inspo ・:*:・゚☆

Hello!! Today I wanted to write about my recent inspirations! (disclaimer- i'm not trying to teach anyone about the rules of any style, just sharing what I have been into recently) I've been aiming for my own personal style that I think of as 'dreamy princess' style, which I'll write about after the photos!!

My first inspo is the style tenshi kaiwai! There are a lot of sporty tech elements in the style, but personally I really like the more feminine outfits. I really like Capsule Bunny's outfits (instagram), she wears a lot of cute tenshi kaiwai! (✿◠‿◠)  (btw, I found all these images via pinterest but have done my best to list who they are on instagram!)

My second big inspo is old Swankiss. If you've ever talked to me about fashion, you'll probably already know I've been totally obsessed with this style for as long as I've been into jfashion, yet I've only tried it out a couple times! I keep saying I'm going to DIY some stuff for it, so now i'm committing to it. lol.

I like that the style is feminine but not super over the top sweet like fairy kei or related styles. I'm obsessed with the ethereal dreamy look that Swankiss has. I've been in a blue obsession, but I think I might like to incorporate some pink touches in my outfits as well.

I really like how Swankiss had light colored denim pieces with added frills and bows. The denim skirt I own doesn't fit anymore, so I'm going to try to find one secondhand this weekend i think! I haven't decided if I'm going to add a ruffle to the edge or attach bows, I think it'll depend on what piece I find.

I really love how both Swankiss and tenshi kaiwai both feature a lot of interesting textures and layers. Eventually, I'd love to own a layering skirt like she's wearing in this photo.

Here's my main style points that I've been incorporating into my outfits!! The general idea for me is to look ethereal, dreamy, cute, like a princess from the clouds.
  • Interesting textures and layers, like lace, sheer material, and long cardigans
  • Pale blue and white, accents of pink
  • Heavy legwear, like legwarmers, slouch socks, knee socks, and chunky tennis shoes
  • Oversized zip up jackets or long cardigans
  • Long pendant necklaces, chokers (I like to layer a few sometimes)
  • Wing and heart motifs
  • Rhinestone and glitter details
  • Hair- soft waves, space buns, large fluffy bun (idk what to call this, it's just my go to curly hair updo LOL)
  • Makeup- peachy tones, highlighted namida bukuro, deep red lip, sparkles, blush under my eyes
Even with my more sporty looks, I like to incorporate light or flowing fabrics so that nothing looks too heavy, except for the legwear since I think it balances the outfits nicely. I am definitely more of a casual outfit type of person, so I like to incorporate comfortable pieces like tshirts and tennis skorts.

I've really been enjoying not feeling tied to any one style and just being free to create interesting outfits and follow my whims. I've been collecting inspo pics for my 'dreamy princess' inspiration board for years now. I've been inspired by many different styles and brands, but I want to really bring my own unique ideas into my style instead of following any one trend/style. I'm definitely going to be creating or altering a lot more pieces which I'm super excited about. I've wanted to explore my interest in my own 'dreamy princess' aesthetic for several years, and I'm so happy I finally got up the courage to post about it!!

Thank you for reading, and I hope that you will stick around to see some of my projects!! (✿◠‿◠)

Tenshi Kaiwai DIY

Hello! Today I wanted to show you my tenshi kaiwai ("angel neighbor" if you aren't familiar with it) DIY projects so far (✿◠‿◠)

Tenshi has a lot of tech elements, like motifs of video game graphics. I wanted to make a tshirt design that was both airy and ethereal as well as bringing in the tech aspect. I've been inspired by both Swankiss style and tenshi kaiwai, and I thought it would be really cute to combine my inspirations for this project! I decided on a cloud pattern using rhinestones. I made the clouds identical and inspired by pixel art and emojis to bring in the tech aspect.

This is what it looked like with the first cloud done!

I got to wear it to a virtual tea party ≧◡≦ I'm really happy with how it turned out!

Next up is my tote bag!

This was my inspo for this project! They didn't have a blue one, plus I wanted to add a few things, so I decided to make my own version.

My finished "Maison de Rae" bag (▰˘◡˘▰) I made the bows and hand stitched them on, and the cinna and letters are iron ons!

Continuing my t-shirt trend, I wanted to make a shirt with the wing pattern I see in a lot of tenshi kaiwai stuff, like ACDC rag. First I laid out the rhinestones with a large design in the center of the shirt, but I didn't like it ●︿● It took me I think 2 hours to lay out properly after I had adjusted everything to make it perfect, but I felt like it looked too much like a kid's shirt or something.

My second idea was so much better! I really like how this turned out. The rhinestone tool made it really easy as well, since I had the tool in one hand and the glue in the other. These take a lot of time to lay our properly even with my stencils, but I really think it's worth it ♥‿♥ I am planning on using this pattern again for a sweatshirt!
